#7. Ask your school serious questions about health, safety & emergency plans.
Schools that know their onions must have thought several years ahead of parents about all the safety measures necessary to preserve the children, their staff and other adults who will be accessing the school premises. Yet, as a parent, it is not safe to assume. If by now, there is yet no communication from your school regarding the safety plans being put in place and you hope to have your child resume with them in the new session, it does help to make inquiries.
And where you sense loopholes, please spotlight them and volunteer assistance where possible. We’re all learning to wade through these mucky waters – together is better.
A caveat to this though: when the school does answer you with a detailed plan, bear in mind that it implies a cost on fees. Be ready!
