For the Women Who Build Differently

Faithfulness, Motherhood, and the Quiet Work of Becoming

Not every woman is building loudly.

Some are planting seeds no one will see today.
Some are teaching, nurturing, creating, and tending quietly — with patience, with faith, with hope.

The world may not notice.

But God does.

International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day were this month. These moments celebrate women and their impact. Yet the work that shapes lives, families, and generations often happens in places the world rarely applauds — in quiet rhythms, ordinary days, and faithful obedience.

Scripture reminds us:

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” — Colossians 3:23

Heaven measures differently.

The Beauty of Building Slowly

Our world celebrates acceleration.

Grow faster.
Do more.

But the language of Scripture is agricultural.

Seeds.
Roots.
Vines.
Harvest.

God builds organically.

Jesus described growth this way:

“First the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear.” — Mark 4:28

Growth has stages.

Women who are building deeply often look like they are moving slowly. But slow growth is not failure.

It is formation.

Roots take time to stretch beneath the surface before anything visible begins to rise.

When God Is Parenting You

There is a humbling realization that many women experience along the way.

While you are nurturing a home, raising children, tending relationships, or stewarding ideas… God is nurturing you.

He corrects gently.
He stretches patiently.
He removes what would stunt your growth.

“For whom the Lord loves He disciplines.” — Hebrews 12:6

Pruning does not mean something has gone wrong.

In a garden, pruning means something is alive.

Something is growing.

Something is worth tending carefully.

And God tends His daughters the same way.

The Work That Shapes Generations

Not every woman will stand on a stage.

Some will stand at kitchen counters.

Some will kneel in gardens, pressing seeds into soil.

Some will sit beside children, sounding out words, explaining numbers, answering endless questions, and guiding young hearts through the world.

It may feel small in the moment.

But history has always been shaped in places like that.

A mother’s consistency.
A woman’s obedience.
A home built with intention.

These quiet spaces become the soil where wisdom, character, and faith take root.

And the fruit of that work often appears long after the moment has passed.

You Are Not Behind

Comparison has a way of whispering lies to women.

It tells us that if something is not growing quickly, it must not be working.

But Scripture paints a different picture:

“The righteous are like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season.” — Psalm 1:3

In season.

Not on demand.
Not for applause.
Not in comparison.

In season.

God is not rushing your story.

He is rooting it.

A Word for Women in This Season

As the world pauses this month to celebrate women — their strength, resilience, and influence — it is worth remembering that influence does not always look loud.

Sometimes it looks like faithfulness.

Sometimes it looks like patience.

Sometimes it looks like a woman building a life slowly, deeply, and with God at the centre.

What you are building may feel hidden today, but hidden seeds are how God begins His greatest gardens.

A Prayer for the Women Who Are Becoming

Lord,

Thank You for the women who are building quietly —
those planting seeds of faith, wisdom, and love in places the world rarely applauds.

Strengthen their hearts when the work feels slow.
Remind them that nothing done with You is ever wasted.

Teach them to trust Your timing,
to rest in Your guidance,
and to remember that what grows deeply will one day grow beautifully.

Let their lives bear fruit in season —
fruit that nourishes homes, communities, and generations yet to come.

Amen.

Some of the most important things in life grow quietly — plants, children, and wisdom. I’m Lois, a home gardener, homeschooling mother, voice artist, and creative educator. What began as curiosity about growing my own food has grown into a deep love for cultivating herbs, vegetables, and medicinal plants right from home, often in sacks and small spaces. Here, I share lessons from the garden, reflections on motherhood, and simple ways to grow food and thoughtful lives.
