Looking good is something everybody secretly wants but most people try to deemphasize. It is as though people consider it unfair when a good-looking person has everything else complete. ‘You should have either of good looks or a good personality,’ they’d think, ‘not both.’ People often wish life would somehow even the scales.
But who makes those rules? Who says you can’t have both? Certainly not God and not the person who handed you this card:
Hey, you look good – believe it or not – and God is proud of the gift He has given you. I certainly hope you realise that He took time to design the very details that completes you. When this reality dawns on you, your expression would be similar to the ecstasy of the singer who wrote these words in Psalm 139.14 NLT:
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvellous—how well I know it.
You are His masterpiece – one of the finest of His creations. You are special. Celebrate that. While you’re at it though, I’d like you to give God a thought. If He thought deeply enough to put the finest details of your life together, the least you can do is return the gesture. What would God possibly want you to do with the gift (of good looks) that He has given you?
