Genesis 1 – 2; Psalm 1; Matthew 1
New Year’s resolutions don’t work for me. Most times I give up on them before the year ends. Rather, I see each week as an opportunity to start over. Actually every day is an opportunity to make a new resolution.
Set goals daily. You don’t have to wait till year end to start something worthy.
Other Vital Lessons:
1. Happiness comes from what happens to you. Blessing is what happens to you through knowing God and meditating on his words. (Psalm 1).
2. Don’t get it twisted. Wicked people prosper, but it’s transient.
3. My whole life is completed in Jesus.
4. I have decided not to argue with scientific theories of creation. They focus on ‘how’ and ‘when’. The creation account in Genesis focuses on ‘who’ and ‘why’. Love is at the core of creation. Science theories don’t prove or disprove this explanation, rather they complement it.
5. Holidays are holy days. Rest is not optional any less than work is.
6. The ‘dominion’ we were given in Genesis 1 was a responsibility… a delegated work. A continuation of what God did and still does.
