GOD, DON’T MAKE A FOOL OF ME!

Sometimes God, You make me look like a fool.

Honestly, I’m tempted to play it safe and not identify with You because it is rational to ask – why would a loving God let this happen? Rational people are asking. Those who don’t know You are taunting us who believe.

God, I wish I could see your mind regarding the Corona Virus. Why did You let it happen? The church is peddling hope, but even the church is relying on scientists to find a cure. Which gives those atheists a (limited) point!

I know that we cannot blame God for all that happens on earth. A larger percentage of what goes wrong is human inflicted. Take COVID19 for instance, there have been speculations around its source. First, we heard it came from the consumption of certain animal meat (snakes and bats)🐉🦇 which God’s word clearly said we shouldn’t eat (Deuteronomy 14.18 – See comment section for the quote). Then we heard that it was a lab experiment gone wrong or a conspiracy by a country/combination of countries. All these are results of humans satisfying an inner craving for power and control. What’s God got to do with that?

History has repeated itself Lord. We’re back in the days of Noah. It seems you’re fed up with man again. The clouds are darkening🌧💨 and it’s about to rain. Not water this time… but a plague. This is not anything like our generation has seen before. It just dawned on me that your covenant with Noah in Genesis 9 was a promise not to sink the earth in water🌊. Who are we to assume you can’t use a plague or, as we’ve heard that NASA projects, an asteroid (fire)☄️💥🔥.

But are you about to destroy the righteous with the wicked? Are there so few Noahs? Or am I – and some other millions of people – deceiving myself to think I’m one? Search me and know my thoughts. Point out anything in us that offends you and lead us along the path of everlasting life (Psalm 139.24).

Permit me to stand in the gap like Abraham in defence of this Sodom. There’s got to be more than 10 Noahs on earth Lord. You always leave a remnant. For each Elijah🧗🏽‍♂️, there are 7000 others.

We lift our voices in prayer to you🙌🏽🙏🏽.
Save our lands. Save our nations. Let the nations know that you alone are God. Take this cup of suffering from us after Your will and purpose has been served. We know that many will go back to their old ways and the leaders may not even acknowledge you – any more than Ahab acknowledged you after Elijah’s prayer or Herod after the tearing of the temple’s inner curtain. But You will have saved many lowly people and raised a crop of disciples whose exploits will be a double-portion anointing of their disciplers’.

For the sake of our children (whom we teach of you)👶🏽👧🏻🧒🏻👦🏽 and for your glory. Have mercy!🙏
