Love What You Do

Love What You Do

As you grow older and begin to take responsibility for yourself and others, you will be faced with one question – what do I do with my life?

Nobody knows you better than you.

Here’s a quick answer. Do what you love. And love what you do.

Never choose what makes you money over what brings you joy. It’s a trap. But if you can find a way to do both – enjoy work and make money – splendid!

Life is full of professionals who are stuck in their trade. Ask your parents, they know them.

These people make enough money to buy a house, change cars, get their children into posh schools, store up investments, travel around the world, help others get bills paid and pay for any and every luxury they can afford. But deep down inside, they feel something is missing. They only live for the paycheck, going to work every day is a chore. They might convince themselves that they are sacrificing their own joy so that their children can be happy and have better options. But they may not have a chance at total happiness until they work in their area of passion.

So, here is my advice to you while you’re young. Always play along your area of strength. Try your hands on everything you can (before you clock 18) and know the ones you’re good at and love. Remember, you may be really good at something but not love it. And you may love something but be poor at it. Be honest with yourself. Choose what you’re skilled at or love doing. Continue to work on it. Be the best at it and build a career there.

On the other hand, when you grow older, if for any reason you find yourself on a job you don’t love.

Do yourself a favour and get out as soon as you can. Plan your way into what you love doing and that can earn you a good living. You’re better off a happy worker than a disgruntled adult.

As I round up, I leave you with this quote:

‘Success is not the key to happiness.

Happiness is the key to success.

If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.”

– Albert Schweitzer.

Set your gift on fire with passion! Make your life count!
