My oh my! You light up the room! Your smile is like a gleam of light at the end of a dark long tunnel. Someone just had to hand you this card.
You see, the world currently has a lot of problems. People daily have more and more reasons to keep a sad look. Turn on the TV and there’s news of at least one country at war with itself or another; there are other news of terrorist attacks, kidnappings or fraud. If you live in Lagos, there’s traffic, unpredictable weather and perhaps a grumpy bus conductor to deal with. If you’re on social media, there are snoopers to deal with; the comparison trap and the-next-do-not-eat scare too. So it is easy for us to have our heads buried in our troubles and our eyes fixed on our fears and concerns.
Yet, in the midst of all that hubbub of stress, here you are grinning from ear to ear, beaming this radiant smile of yours that lights up our world. What’s your secret?
Take it from me. Your smile does a lot more than you realise. Don’t ever think you’ll be taken advantage of because you smile. Have you taken a look at Proverbs. 15.30 lately? (Just click on the link or skip to the comment section to see it). It is a Bible quote.
Your smile does you a lot of good. Keep it. Better yet, it does good for people around you. It has medicinal effect on their hearts. In fact, the Bible likens the effect your smile has on people to the effect a very fine good news has on a person. Or in more practical terms, like the joy a man feels when his team scores the winning goal in a football match.
Your smile is good news. It is like the Gospel. Keep spreading this gospel. Share it from room to room.
And when you spot a person whose smile is just as charming as yours, then do me a favour – slip this card into their hands and tell them, “The world needs your smile” and that’s the Gospel truth.
Cheers.
A cheerful look brings joy to the heart; good news makes for good health.
