Battles and Blessings

Bat and B

January 4

Proverbs 1; Matthew 4; Genesis 7 – 9

As I read the BiBle in One Year devotional I’m surprised😱 at the pleasant coincidence today’s topic makes with what I’m currently going through. This period is one of battle for me. In fact, a good portion of 2019 was spent in the hospital – everyone in my family was hit; my wife, our daughter and – toward the end of the year – me.

So as we entered the New Year, we prayed not to have any hospital incidence. We could really use a breather! Alas, 4 days into 2020, our one-year-old daughter had to be taken to the hospital🤒.

I felt inadequate – I thought something must be spiritually wrong with me for this to have happened😔. I also felt my prayer was unrealistic or not in God’s will. Or perhaps the devil👹 was allowed to test me with the opposite of what I desired most and see if I’ll still praise God. I kuku did. I praised him, though not from the bottom of my heart. It was hard to give Him pure praise. I worshipped with one eye open😘. My songs, prayer and praise were mixed with fear, disappointment and pain.

This was indeed battle season for me!

PRAYER😇🙏🏼:
Lord, hard as it is completely trust you right now, help me. Help my unbelief. Teach me to fear not. Teach me to let go of my concerns and trust that you are God and in control of all that pertains to me and my family. Amen🙏🏼.

Please give me wisdom to steer through the battles and blessings of life.

Help me remember that my light and momentary battles are achieving a far more significant glory in eternity. Amen.🙏🏼
